Tokyo University of Science is a private university located in Kagurazaka, Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, Japan. It is the only private university in Japan whose alumni have received Nobel Prizes, with Dr. Ōmura Satoshi winning the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2016. The university comprises comprehensive faculties and departments in science, engineering, biomedicine, and life sciences, and is home to several globally renowned research centers.

     In collaboration with Tokyo University of Science's Department of Industrial Management, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University's Department of Industrial Engineering and Management has signed a Master's Double Degree Agreement. Under this agreement, three master's students per year are selected to pursue a double degree. Through this program, students complete the required credits at both universities, receive guidance from professors at both institutions for thesis writing, and upon successful defense, are awarded master's degrees from both universities.

     Since the initial agreement was signed in 2016, a total of 12 students have successfully completed their studies and obtained master's degrees from both universities. In 2023, two students have been granted admission to Tokyo University of Science and are scheduled to begin their studies in September. This renewal of the agreement, which is set to expire, extends its validity until May 31, 2028. By forging this partnership, both universities aim to enhance academic internationalization in line with SDG17, Partnerships for the Goals.

     Additionally, through this collaborative effort, students receive a high-quality education and local students have access to a more diverse learning environment, fostering a robust international perspective, and contributing to the achievement of SDG4, Quality Education.
