NYCU CoM and UIC Deepen International Academic Collaboration

  • The College of Management at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) officially signed an expanded Dual Master’s Degree Agreement with the College of Business Administration at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) on May 20, 2025, marking a significant milestone in deepening international academic collaboration between the two institutions. Dr. Sandy J. Wayne, Dean of the UIC Business School, visited NYCU in person to attend the signing ceremony, warmly welcomed by Dean Dr. Yu-Chiun Chiou, Associate Dean Dr. Chun-Cheng Lin, Associate Dean Dr. Kuo , and other distinguished faculty members.

During her visit, Dr. Wayne joined NYCU faculty members for a roundtable meeting to discuss curriculum planning, degree design, and student support strategies. She also introduced the updated structure of the dual degree program directly to NYCU students, offering valuable insights into academic and career opportunities in the United States.

The newly signed dual degree program offers NYCU students access to six STEM-designated graduate fields at UIC: Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Supply Chain and Operations Management, Finance, Accounting, and Marketing. Participating students will complete two semesters and eight courses (32 credits) at UIC to earn a master’s degree. Additionally, eligible students may apply for up to three years of Optional Practical Training (OPT) upon graduation, significantly increasing their chances of gaining international work experience in the U.S.

The program follows a fixed tuition model of approximately USD 14,200 per semester, offering a 35% discount compared to standard international tuition rates. NYCU and UIC will also work together to ensure seamless course mapping, credit recognition, and career support services for participating students.

UIC is a leading public research university in the Midwest United States and ranks 39th among U.S. public universities in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings. Its College of Business Administration holds dual AACSB accreditations in business and accounting, placing it among the top 5% of business schools globally.

NYCU’s College of Management remains committed to internationalization by expanding collaborative programs with world-class institutions and building a global learning platform that empowers students and faculty to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
